CNN has reported that Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn, Mindy Kaling, and Ana Navarro will serve as hosts at the Democratic National Convention this week. Each star will host one night of the four-day convention, similar to an award show host, guiding the audience through the programming.
Goldwyn will host Monday night, Navarro on Tuesday, Kaling on Wednesday, and Washington on Thursday, when Vice President Kamala Harris will accept the Democratic nomination. All four hosts have a history of supporting the Democratic Party and campaigning for candidates.
Washington, known for her political activism, has her own political nonprofit, Influence Change. Goldwyn, her “Scandal” co-star, is also an activist who has supported Democratic causes. Kaling and Navarro have both shown support for Democratic candidates over the years.
In addition to these Hollywood stars, the DNC will also feature political stars such as the Obamas and the Clintons. Biden will open the convention with a push to elect Harris. The convention aims to focus on real-life American people and the issues that affect them, while also engaging well-known stars to amplify the message with their fan bases.
