In a video posted on social media, Martin invited “two genuine Swifties” on stage while singing the song with Rogers. “We sing this song with so much love for Taylor and so much love for Swifties,” Martin expressed to the audience.
This concert marks the first major act to headline at the Austrian venue since a thwarted terror attack plot led to the cancellation of three of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concerts earlier this month. Swift was expected to kick off the three-show run on August 9, but Austrian authorities revealed they had prevented an ISIS-inspired plot to attack one of her shows.
Swift expressed a mix of fear and gratitude in a statement posted on her Instagram page, acknowledging the authorities for preventing a potential tragedy. She resumed her tour last week with a five-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium.
