76th Emmy Awards: "The Bear" Dominates Nominations

Earlier this summer, the nominees for the 76th Emmy Awards, which recognize the finest in television, were revealed, and the series “The Bear” emerged as a standout contender. The FX show, set in a Chicago sandwich shop that transitions into a high-end eatery, garnered an impressive 23 nominations this year, eclipsing the previous record of 22 held by NBC’s "30 Rock" since 2009.
In a competitive drama category, “Shōgun” led with a total of 25 nominations this year. However, the overall record of 32 nominations, established by HBO’s "Game of Thrones" in 2016, remains intact. HBO, which owns CNN’s parent company, has yet to see its record challenged.
Notably absent from this year’s nominations are past favorites like “Succession” and “Ted Lasso.” However, “The Crown,” “The Morning Show,” and “Only Murders in the Building” have emerged as the latest “legacy shows,” each receiving multiple nominations.
