Trump’s Bold First Day: Over 100 Executive Actions Planned to Reverse Biden Policies and Reshape Immigration, Energy, and Federal Operations

In the wake of Donald Trump’s election victory, anticipation surrounds his imminent presidency, with significant emphasis on executive actions addressing various policy priorities. The President-elect is poised to execute a multitude of these directives on his very first day in office, focusing particularly on areas such as immigration, energy policies, and the operations of the federal government. It is projected that over 100 executive orders or similar unilateral actions will be issued by Trump and his counsel, aiming to dismantle many policies established by the Biden administration.

Stephen Miller, who will assume the role of deputy chief of staff for policy under Trump, shed light on some of the key actions during a briefing with senior congressional Republicans. His overview was reportedly more of a high-level summary for lawmakers rather than an exhaustive policy elaboration. According to sources briefed on the call, this overview aimed to acquaint lawmakers with what they might expect, yet the flurry of activity leading up to the inauguration has created a dynamic and fluid communication environment among Trump’s team.

Delving into specifics, Miller confirmed that one of the imminent proposals under Trump’s administration includes a comprehensive suite of immigration measures. A particularly notable action involves Trump declaring a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border, a strategic move aimed at unlocking funds from the Department of Defense for the border wall initiative. This approach signals a forceful attempt to address border security and immigration enforcement, a defining aspect of Trump’s previous presidential campaign.

Moreover, Trump plans to classify numerous drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and will direct his administration to revive the Migrant Protection Protocol, also colloquially known as the “Remain in Mexico” policy. In addition to these policies, he intends to reinstate a range of immigration directives that were promptly rescinded by President Biden on his first day in office back in 2021. This swift action underscores the contrasts between the Trump and Biden administrations’ approaches to immigration and border control.

Federal government operations will also be a central theme during Trump’s return to the White House. Among the various actions anticipated, a notable executive order, referred to as Schedule F, aims to diminish job protections for federal employees. This order mirrors a version that Trump signed prior to the 2020 election and was subsequently revoked by Biden. This aggressive reevaluation of federal employment policies reflects Trump’s overarching objective to reform government operations in line with his administration’s conservative principles.

In a parallel development, the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency is set to take shape under the leadership of notable figures such as Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Musk’s affiliation with this initiative has garnered attention, as his company, SpaceX, has been involved in the transitional processes, indicating a significant melding of tech innovations and governmental functions.

Furthermore, Trump is anticipated to take decisive steps in repealing federal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies that were put in place during the Biden administration. These actions aim to rescind various gender-related executive orders, signaling a palpable shift in the federal government’s approach to social equity and inclusion.

In addition to domestic policy reforms, an emergency declaration regarding energy is expected as part of a broader initiative to revitalize domestic energy production. This will encompass actions targeting energy industries, regulatory frameworks, and land management practices associated with energy resources. Through these planned measures, Trump’s administration is setting the stage for an aggressive realignment of policies, marking a clear departure from the prior administration’s direction.

Overall, the swift execution of these executive actions indicates Trump’s intent to reaffirm his administration’s key priorities and restore his version of governance in a variety of influential sectors, ranging from immigration to federal employment practices and energy production. As these developments unfold, the political landscape is likely to witness a significant transformation in response to Trump’s renewed presidency.
