In a recent update, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis have been spotted on set for the highly anticipated “Freaky Friday 2.” The dynamic duo is reprising their roles as mother and daughter Anna and Tess Coleman, although details about the plot are being kept tightly under wraps.

Disney has released some information about the sequel, revealing that the movie “picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.”

Excitement for the upcoming film has been building, with a picture of the two actresses posted on social media with the caption, “The Colemans are back and coming to theaters in 2025! The sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production!”

Joining Lohan and Curtis in the sequel are Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. New additions to the cast include Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons.

Fans of the original film can look forward to the return of the band as Lohan and Curtis have previously hinted at a sequel to their 2003 hit. The original movie was a remake of a 1976 film, which was based on the 1972 novel “Freaky Friday” by Mary Rodgers. Stay tuned for more updates on “Freaky Friday 2” as filming continues.
