CDK Global has announced that a “small initial test group” of car dealerships is back online after a software outage last week. The company stated, “We have successfully brought a small initial test group of dealers live on the Dealer Management System (DMS), and once validation is complete, we will begin phasing in other dealers.”
CDK Global is also working to bring back additional applications, including customer relationship management and service solutions, as well as customer care channels. The outage has caused difficulties for dealerships trying to submit month-end financial reports, but CDK has created a resource center with necessary documents and forms to support sales and service efforts.
Auto dealerships rely on CDK’s software for managing various operations, from scheduling to records. CDK began restoring its software on Saturday.
Unfortunately, CDK stated that its systems may not be fully online before June 30, which is impacting dealers in the midst of a busy car-buying season. Despite suggesting that a fix was imminent, the company has faced delays in getting the systems back up and running.
The systems outage, caused by a cybersecurity incident, has affected nearly 15,000 car dealerships across North America since last Wednesday.
