Allisha Gray led the Atlanta Dream to a hard-fought 78-74 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Friday night, scoring 17 points to help secure the win. The Dream also received a strong performance from Tina Charles, who contributed 14 points, six rebounds, and four steals in the closely contested game. This victory ended a three-game losing streak for the Dream, who now have three wins in 10 matches.

On the other hand, the Connecticut Sun suffered just their third defeat of the season despite DeWanna Bonner’s impressive 17-point performance. Dijonai Carrington also chipped in with 15 points for the Sun in a game where neither team managed to pull ahead by more than five points at any given time. In the final moments of the game, Jordin Canada and Charles both sank crucial free throws to secure the win for the Dream.

Meanwhile, in Phoenix, the Mercury dominated the Los Angeles Sparks with a 92-78 victory. Kahleah Copper led the charge with 24 points, while Diana Taurasi added 20 points, including five three-pointers. Copper’s standout performance included scoring 11 points in the third quarter alone, helping the Mercury build a comfortable lead over the Sparks.

The Mercury’s advantage grew to as much as 87-70 after Copper made a lay-up in the fourth quarter, sealing the victory for Phoenix. Brittney Griner also had a strong showing for the Mercury, scoring 18 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the game. Unfortunately for the Sparks, Dearica Hamby’s career-best 29 points were not enough to secure a win.

In summary, the Atlanta Dream and the Phoenix Mercury emerged victorious in their respective matchups on Friday night. Allisha Gray and Tina Charles played key roles in the Dream’s win over the Sun, while Kahleah Copper and Diana Taurasi led the Mercury to a dominant victory against the Sparks.
