Susan Lucci, famous for her role in “All My Children,” is currently focusing on her heart health. The 77-year-old actress recently opened up to “Entertainment Tonight” about her struggles with heart disease and the loss of her husband, Helmut Huber, in 2022.
Lucci and Huber had been married since 1969, and despite understanding that love after loss is possible, she mentioned that she’s not ready to start dating again just yet.
In her interview, Lucci reflected on the importance of moving forward in life after facing challenges: “It is different for everyone and, you know, part of it is a choice to get up off the floor and put one foot in front of the other. I mean, it is better to go ahead with your life.” She also expressed gratitude for the gift of life and the love she shared with her late husband.
Although Lucci turned down an offer to be on “The Golden Bachelorette,” she shared that she plans to watch contestant Joan Vassos in the debut season. “I think I’m just a fan… it wasn’t for me but it’s something that I do love to watch,” Lucci explained.
Aside from focusing on her personal life, Lucci has also been prioritizing her health. She revealed that she has undergone two procedures related to heart disease in the past four years. “I had a blockage, a 90 percent blockage in my main artery and a 75 percent blockage in the adjacent artery,” she disclosed. Fortunately, she listened to her body’s signs and sought medical help.
Despite the challenges she has faced, Lucci shared that she is currently in good shape and feeling healthy.
