Analyst Ben Wood of CCS Insight commented on Altman’s absence, stating, “OpenAI is merely the vehicle to address broader AI-powered inquiries that are not core to the Apple experience. Having him in the livestream would have only created an unnecessary level of confusion.”
Apple showcased several AI-powered features coming to its devices in the fall, primarily driven by its proprietary technology Apple Intelligence. OpenAI’s ChatGPT tool will be integrated in a limited capacity, mainly assisting Siri with answering inquiries.
