Bruce Springsteen Unveils 80 Unreleased Songs in Upcoming “Tracks II: The Lost Albums” Collection

The legendary musician Bruce Springsteen is gearing up to thrill fans with an extensive collection of music this summer, named “Tracks II: The Lost Albums.” This eagerly anticipated release is set to drop on June 27 and features an astonishing total of over 80 songs that have never before graced the ears of the public. The collection will be comprised of seven full-length albums, each carefully curated to showcase Springsteen’s artistic brilliance throughout his decades-long career. The tracks within these albums were penned between the years of 1983 and 2018, highlighting a range of styles and themes that have become synonymous with The Boss’s work.

In a recent announcement, Springsteen shared that the pandemic provided him with the unique opportunity to sift through his “vault,” ultimately leading to the compilation of these albums. The process resulted in the upcoming collection that fans are eager to experience. In a trailer released on Thursday, Springsteen elaborated that he had finished everything he had in his vault during this quiet period, culminating in these seven new albums.

Describing the forthcoming collection, Springsteen stated, “’The Lost Albums’ were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released.” He expressed his excitement about sharing these long-hidden musical gems, saying, “I’ve played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I’m glad you’ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.” This statement underscores his desire to connect with fans through music that has remained intimate for so long.

As a delightful teaser for the collection, Springsteen released the single “Rain In The River,” which is part of one of the new albums titled “Perfect World.” This first glimpse into the Lost Albums promises that fans will not be disappointed in the diversity of sound and emotional depth the recordings will present. Fans are particularly anxious to experience this new single and gauge the flavor it brings.

According to an official news release, the album titles not only include “Perfect World” but also interesting entries like “LA Garage Sessions ‘83,” “Streets of Philadelphia Sessions,” “Faithless,” “Somewhere North of Nashville,” “Inyo,” and “Twilight Hours.” Each title hints at a distinct musical journey, beckoning listeners to explore uncharted territory in Springsteen’s prolific discography.

The collection is being touted as a versatile experience, featuring a range of sounds that encapsulate Springsteen’s signature style—from his classic drum loops and synth melodies to country-infused tunes and symphonic arrangements. This incredible variety can be attributed to Springsteen’s newfound ability to record from home during the pandemic, which allowed him to experiment with numerous musical directions.

Adding a bit of personal insight, Springsteen shared, “The ability to record at home whenever I wanted allowed me to go into a wide variety of different musical directions.” This period of creative exploration has undoubtedly fueled the release of a collection that is rich in artistic invention and emotional resonance.

As if the excitement surrounding the release of “Tracks II: The Lost Albums” were not enough, Springsteen has also announced that he will be embarking on the European leg of his tour with the E Street Band this May. The tour is set to commence in Manchester and will conclude in Milan during July. This dual activity of a new album release and a tour promises an exhilarating time for fans, as they will not only have fresh music to enjoy but also the opportunity to see the iconic performer live. With all of this musical content pouring forth, the summer of 2023 is shaping up to be momentous for Bruce Springsteen aficionados.
