In a surprising culinary twist, Cup Noodles has introduced a new s’mores-flavored instant ramen, aiming to change perceptions of the iconic noodle dish.

The limited-edition offering features a mix of microwavable noodles, chocolate, marshmallow, graham crackers, and mini marshmallows for a sweet and gooey dessert experience in just five minutes.

While Cup Noodles is known for its savory flavors, the brand is no stranger to unconventional pairings. “Cup Noodles Campfire S’mores” is the latest addition to their seasonal lineup, designed to shake up consumer expectations.

Nissin, the parent company of Cup Noodles, will be selling the $1.18 soup online and at Walmart locations nationwide while supplies last.

Retail analyst Neil Saunders points out that Cup Noodles is looking to elevate its image with unique flavor combinations like the s’mores ramen, appealing to a wider range of consumers.

Priscila Stanton, Senior VP of Marketing at Nissin Foods USA, sees the new flavor as a way to expand the brand beyond being just a pantry staple. With previous limited offerings like Pumpkin Spice and Everything Bagel, Cup Noodles is targeting different eating occasions.

As the summer season sees a surge in s’mores-flavored products, Cup Noodles is adding to the conversation by introducing a sweet twist on a classic campfire treat.

Saunders believes that the uniqueness of a sweet ramen flavor could draw in curious consumers, especially younger generations like Gen Z and millennials who are more open to playful tastes.

Stanton emphasizes the nostalgic appeal of the s’mores flavor, tapping into childhood memories and creating a talking point among consumers.

With the trend of s’mores-inspired snacks showing no signs of slowing down, Cup Noodles is confident that their new dessert ramen will become a staple in the consumer calendar, much like pumpkin spice in the fall.
