Deadpool’s Shocking Cut Line Revealed: Ryan Reynolds Confirms Disney Intervention!

New York, NY – At the Fast Company Innovation Festival this week, Ryan Reynolds, the actor, producer, and co-writer of the upcoming film "Deadpool & Wolverine," revealed a controversial moment from production that involved a last-minute cut made at the behest of Disney, the parent company of Marvel Studios.

Reynolds shared that there was “only one line in the entire film that they asked me to take out.” The actor did not disclose the specific line, but he expressed his initial reluctance, humorously mimicking Disney CEO Bob Iger’s request: “As soon as somebody says something, like, ‘Ryan, Bob Iger here. Would love it if you’d take that one line out. It’s really going to make our life hard over here.’”

When the audience speculated on the nature of the removed line, Reynolds firmly replied, “No. No. No! And they were right!” He then recounted his instinctive response to the request, stating, “there’s just something in my brain that goes, ‘Must keep line! Precious!’”

However, upon reflection, Reynolds came to a realization: “Of course I can take that out. Can I say something about Pinocchio instead? And the answer is yes!”

Despite the speculation surrounding the omitted dialogue, Reynolds reminded attendees that the film still delivers plenty of the irreverent humor for which the character is known, noting that it marks the first R-rated Marvel movie produced under Disney ownership.

Audiences need not look far for examples of this humor; the film’s first trailer contained numerous risqué references, including nods to sex toys and recreational drugs, promising a continuation of Deadpool’s signature style.
