Renowned talk show host Ellen DeGeneres recently made a surprising announcement during a standup comedy show at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa, California. According to SFGate.com, DeGeneres revealed that she is ready to step away from performing.
DeGeneres shared with the audience her activities since the conclusion of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” two years ago. She humorously mentioned, “I got chickens. Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.”
The talk show came to an end following a controversy involving former staff members who accused the show’s environment of being toxic. In response, DeGeneres issued an apology to her staff in July 2020, expressing her disappointment at the situation.
During her recent appearance in Santa Rosa, DeGeneres took responsibility for her actions, admitting to being harsh and immature as a boss. She reflected on her past attitude, stating, “I used to say, ‘I don’t care what people say about me.’ Now I realize I said that during the height of my popularity.”
When asked about potentially pursuing movies or Broadway, DeGeneres gave a definitive answer to her fans. “This is the last time you’re going to see me,” she declared. “After my Netflix special, I’m done.”
