In a recent court appearance, Boris Epshteyn, a key adviser to former President Donald Trump, pleaded not guilty to election subversion charges in Arizona. Epshteyn, along with 17 others, is accused of attempting to obstruct the lawful transfer of the presidency by falsely claiming Trump won the election in Arizona. Although Trump is not directly charged in this case, the indictment implies he is “Unindicted Coconspirator 1.”
The scheme involved fraudulent electors casting votes for Trump, falsely claiming to represent Arizona’s official electoral results. Epshteyn, who has been a close aide to Trump for years, is a known confidant of the former president and has stood by his side during legal proceedings in other cases.
Other notable figures charged in the indictment include former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows and Trump’s attorneys Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, and Christina Bobb, all of whom have also pleaded not guilty to the charges.
