Fredrik Lindgren emerged victorious in Gorzow, claiming his first win of the season in a thrilling final showdown against Bartosz Zmarzlik. Lindgren’s stunning move down the back straight secured him the top spot on the podium, marking a triumphant return for the Swedish rider.

Reflecting on his win, Lindgren expressed his elation, stating, “I don’t know what to say, it’s absolutely awesome. It’s so nice to be back on the podium, on the top step.” Despite a challenging start to the day, where he finished 15th in qualifying, Lindgren showcased his determination and resilience throughout the event, culminating in a well-deserved victory in the final race.

Zmarzlik, the defending champion, had initially dominated the proceedings on the grippy track. However, as the surface evolved and became slick, Lindgren, along with Danish riders Leon Madsen and Mikkel Michelsen, began to shine. The final race saw Zmarzlik take an early lead with Michelsen close behind, but Lindgren’s bold maneuver around the outside propelled him into second place, setting the stage for his eventual triumph.

In a bold and skillful display, Lindgren executed a remarkable overtake down the back straight to claim the lead from Zmarzlik, a move that ultimately secured his victory in Gorzow. Despite finishing in second place, Zmarzlik’s consistent performance earned him a fifth consecutive podium finish and maintained his lead in the championship standings.

Michelsen, securing his second podium finish of the season, expressed his joy at the result, stating, “I’m definitely having fun, maybe a bit too much fun at times.” With his third-place finish, Michelsen also climbed to third place in the overall standings, underscoring his impressive form in the competition.

However, for Madsen, the final race ended prematurely due to a technical issue, denying him the opportunity to contend for a podium finish. Zmarzlik, on the other hand, extended his championship lead to 27 points, benefiting from the misfortunes of his closest rivals in the title race.

Robert Lambert endured a challenging outing, failing to progress from the heats and dropping to fifth place in the standings. Jack Holder, who entered Gorzow in third place, faced setbacks in the semi-final and left with only nine additional points to his name. Tai Woffinden’s night came to an abrupt halt in Heat 8 following a collision, resulting in his exclusion from the event.

Despite the obstacles faced by some riders, the competition in Gorzow showcased the thrilling and unpredictable nature of Speedway Grand Prix racing. As the season unfolds, fans can continue to follow the action on Webpressnews and discovery+, witnessing the exhilarating battles and dramatic moments that define this high-octane sport.
