From Trump Critic to VP Candidate: J.D. Vance’s Anti-Trump Tweets Resurface, Throwing His Loyalty into Question

Republican Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, a potential candidate for Donald Trump’s vice president, is facing scrutiny over past tweets that harshly criticized the former president and his policies. The tweets, dating from 2016 to 2017, include speculation that Vance could serve in Hillary Clinton’s administration, calling Trump “one of USA’s most hated, villainous, douchey celebs,” and accusing him of “serial sexual assault.”

These tweets, uncovered in a recent review of Vance’s social media activity, reveal a deeper level of criticism towards Trump than previously known. Despite his past anti-Trump stances, Vance has since become a vocal defender of the former president.

Vance has deleted past anti-Trump tweets and is now considered a close ally of Trump, with his name being floated as a potential vice-presidential pick. In a statement to CNN, Vance cited Trump’s successes in office and vowed to do everything in his power to ensure Trump’s victory in the upcoming election.

The discovery of Vance’s past anti-Trump tweets comes as Trump is expected to meet with congressional Republicans in Washington, D.C. on Thursday. Vance’s transformation from a “Never Trump” Republican to a strong supporter of the former president has been the subject of much scrutiny.

Vance, who shot to fame with his memoir “Hillbilly Elegy” in 2016, has become a key surrogate for Trump and has defended him on various platforms. Despite his past criticisms, Vance now stands firmly behind Trump and has received support from key figures in the Trump campaign, including Donald Trump Jr. and Jason Miller.

In a recent interview, Vance explained his political evolution, stating that he initially focused too much on Trump’s style rather than his substantive policies. He has since changed his perspective and now considers himself a pro-Trump Republican.

Vance’s past social media activity, including tweets critical of Trump’s immigration policies and response to the Charlottesville rally in 2017, has raised questions about his true allegiances. However, Vance maintains that he is now a strong supporter of Trump and will continue to advocate for his presidency.
