Jake Paul Calls Out Anthony Joshua for Potential Megafight After Dominating Victory Over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

In recent developments in the boxing world, Jake Paul has openly discussed a potential megafight with former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. This announcement comes on the heels of Paul’s latest victory against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., wherein he won by unanimous decision, boosting his professional boxing record to an impressive 12 wins and only 1 loss. The fight, which took place over ten rounds, demonstrated Paul’s striking ability, as he effectively dominated throughout the contest, leaving Chavez struggling to maintain any rhythm.

Chavez Jr., the son of legendary boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., and a notable champion in his own right, was widely regarded as a significant challenge for Paul. Yet, the fight drew attention as Paul managed to outperform him, with scorecards reading 99-91, 97-93, and 98-92 in favor of the “Problem Child.” This victory marks Paul’s sixth consecutive win since his setback against Tommy Fury in 2023, further establishing him as a force to be reckoned with in boxing.

After the match, Paul addressed the crowd, who were somewhat hostile towards him, and expressed, “I live for this s*** from your motherf******. That was easy work – I only got hit 10 times. I’m him.” His confidence overflowed as he described his performance against a well-regarded opponent, stating, “I beat your boy. Nah, he is a warrior, but so am I. I think I did great against a former world champion who has never been stopped.”

Paul’s ambition does not stop at accumulating victories; he is adamant about staying active in the sport. He remarked, “Yeah, 100% I’m staying active. I’m fighting everybody. I’ll fight anyone, any time, anywhere, any place.” Such a bold announcement has left fans pondering who Paul may face next, and he seems to have set his sights on an intriguing challenge—stepping up to the heavyweight division to clash with Anthony Joshua.

Joshua, on the other hand, finds himself in a contrasting situation. After suffering a brutal knockout loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium last September, which halted a run of four wins, he has taken time to regroup. This defeat not only impacted his career momentum but also raised questions about his competitive future. Despite this setback, Joshua is still recognized as one of the sport’s most marketable athletes, and fans are keen to see him return to form.

Concerning the possibility of a fight between Paul and Joshua, the latter has been relatively quiet but remains engaged in potential match discussions. Following his victory against Chavez, Paul expressed, “I’m definitely not a heavyweight, but I’m still going to take the challenge.” He mentioned that even heavyweights like Deontay Wilder have achieved success at lower weights, thus asserting his belief that size isn’t everything in the sport. Paul’s fiery ambition continues to reflect his willingness to take on significant challenges, asserting, “That’s the criticism: ‘fight someone in their prime who’s a beast’. I think people just want to see me lose.”

The interest in a bout against Joshua has certainly piqued fans’ attention. Paul revealed, “Anthony Joshua is an insane fight, but I want that challenge. We’ve been DMing back-and-forth – he wants to make it happen. He called me up, and it is looking very likely for next year.” This declaration excites fans and raises anticipation for what could be one of the biggest boxing events in recent history.

As discussions swirl around these two combatants, the anticipation for the prospect of a Paul vs. Joshua fight adds an exciting narrative to the boxing landscape, highlighting the unpredictable and electrifying nature of the sport. With fans eager to see how this situation unfolds, both fighters have the potential to draw massive crowds and create significant buzz in 2024.
