Justin Timberlake to Plead in DWI Case as He Returns to Hamptons Following Arrest

Justin Timberlake Set to Enter Plea in DWI Case from June Arrest

Justin Timberlake is scheduled to enter a plea related to a driving while intoxicated (DWI) case stemming from his June arrest in Sag Harbor, New York. The information was confirmed by the Suffolk County district attorney’s office.

The singer is expected to make his first appearance in the Hamptons since the arrest at a hearing this Friday. Timberlake previously pleaded not guilty to the DWI charge in a virtual court appearance last month, during which the judge suspended his driver’s license.

According to the Associated Press, Timberlake is anticipated to plead to a lesser charge. However, prosecutors have not provided any additional details regarding the plea deal.

CNN has reached out to Timberlake’s publicist for comment; however, his attorney, Edward Burke, has declined to provide any statements.

During his June arrest, police reported that Timberlake, 43, was seen driving a 2025 BMW "in an intoxicated condition." Authorities stated he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and did not maintain his lane. An officer described Timberlake as being “unable to divide attention” and performing poorly on “standardized field sobriety tests.”

Court records indicate that Timberlake told police he had "one martini and I followed my friends home."

At a hearing in late July, Burke contested the claim that Timberlake was intoxicated, asserting that the singer should not have been arrested. “The police made a number of very significant errors in this case,” Burke stated at that time.

Timberlake has been actively touring throughout the summer, promoting his latest album, “Everything I Thought It Was.”

This story has been updated. CNN’s Elizabeth Wagmeister, Sarah Boxer, and Kristina Sgueglia contributed to this reporting.
