In a recent Instagram video, Kevin Costner announced that he will not be returning to the hit show “Yellowstone.” After working on the multi-part film series “Horizon: An American Saga,” Costner shared his decision with fans, stating, “I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue Season 5b or into the future.”
Costner expressed his love for the show and the character he played, John Sutton, saying, “It was something that really changed me. I loved it, and I know you loved it.” He emphasized that he won’t be returning and looks forward to seeing fans at the movies.
During an appearance on Howard Stern’s show, Costner mentioned that he would only consider returning to “Yellowstone” if certain conditions were met. Despite having conversations with the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, Costner concluded that it wasn’t possible to work things out.
Costner, who believes the series can continue without him, is focused on his upcoming film “Horizon: An American Saga.” The film, distributed by Warner Bros., will debut in theaters on June 28. Costner is co-writing, co-producing, directing, and starring in the project. The announcement comes just days before the highly anticipated return of “Yellowstone” on November 10.
