In a recent event, Kirsten Dunst showcased her enduring spirit by leading the Rancho Carne High School cheer team at a special screening of “Bring It On” at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. The Y2K movie, which delves into themes of cultural appropriation, homophobia, and sexism, quickly became a teen cult classic upon its release in August 2000. Dunst, who was 17 at the time of filming, expressed her enthusiasm for the film by reciting one of its iconic cheers during the event.
During the screening, Dunst delighted fans by reminiscing about her role as Torrance in the film. She also shared a video on Instagram Stories where she exclaimed, “I am T-T-T-Torrance! Let’s go Toros!” The event, hosted by Cinespia, also included a double feature of “Bring It On” and “The Virgin Suicides,” another movie in which Dunst starred.
Despite the release of five sequels to “Bring It On” between 2004 and 2017, neither Dunst nor Gabrielle Union have reprised their roles in the subsequent films. However, both actors have expressed openness to returning to their iconic characters in the future. Dunst’s appearance at the screening suggests that she may be ready to reclaim her pom poms and rejoin the world of competitive cheerleading on screen.
