Music Industry Titan Scooter Braun Bids Farewell to Music Management and Shifts Focus to HYBE America

In breaking news, Scooter Braun, a well-known recording artist manager who has worked with stars like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, has announced his retirement from music management. Instead, Braun will focus on being the CEO of HYBE America, a company he sold his own Ithaca Holdings to in 2021. This news was shared in a statement posted on social media on Monday.

Braun reflected on his career in the music industry, stating, “I have been blessed to have had a ‘Forrest Gump’-like life while witnessing and taking part in the journeys of some of the most extraordinarily talented people the world has ever seen.” After 23 years as a music manager, he feels this chapter has come to an end.

He emphasized the personal sacrifices he made as a music manager, mentioning that as his kids have grown, his priorities have changed. Braun shares three children, Levi, Jagger, and Hart, with his ex-wife Yael Cohen.

In recent years, Braun made headlines when he acquired Taylor Swift’s music catalog and later sold her master recordings without giving her an opportunity to buy them back. Swift then began rerecording and publishing her “Taylor’s version” music catalog to great success.

Braun’s role as CEO of HYBE America, managing K-Pop group BTS, has led to clients like Demi Lovato parting ways with him. However, artists like Ariana Grande have continued to work with HYBE to manage non-music related businesses.

In his statement, Braun expressed his love for all those he has worked with over the years and pledged support for their future endeavors. He closed by saying, “Every client I have had the privilege of working with has changed my life, and I know many of them are just beginning to see the success they deserve. I will cheer for every single one of them.”
