Divorce Filing Follows Domestic Violence Arrest of “Dancing with the Stars” Dancer
In a significant development, Nikki Bella has filed for divorce from her husband, Artem Chigvintsev, just two weeks after he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. Bella’s petition was officially submitted on Wednesday, as confirmed by Napa County Superior Court records.
Bella and Chigvintsev, who have been married since 2022, are parents to a four-year-old son. CNN has reached out for comments from representatives for both Bella and Chigvintsev.
Last month, Henry Wofford, the public information officer for the Napa County Sheriff’s Department, revealed to CNN that Chigvintsev was taken into custody at approximately 10 a.m. PDT on August 29 in Yountville, California, on charges of felony domestic violence. Wofford stated that the investigation remains ongoing, but no further details regarding the incident or any potential victims have been disclosed.
Chigvintsev is well-known for his role as a professional dancer and choreographer on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” where he has competed for over ten seasons. He and Bella first met as partners during Season 25 of the show. CNN previously reported that Chigvintsev is not expected to participate in the upcoming Season 33 of “DWTS.”
