In a breaking news update, President Joe Biden is set to have an exclusive interview with NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt. The interview will be taped and aired next Monday, as announced by the network.

The location for this highly anticipated interview will be in Austin, Texas. The full, unedited interview will be featured in a primetime special on NBC’s streaming service at 9 pm ET, according to a statement from the network.

Segments of the interview will also be previewed on Monday at 6:30 pm ET on NBC Nightly News. Additionally, a complete transcript of the interview will be made available online, NBC confirmed.

This upcoming interview will mark Biden’s second major sit-down with a broadcast network since his previous performance at CNN’s presidential debate, which sparked significant controversy within the Democratic party and led to calls for Biden to step aside.

Last week, Biden participated in a 22-minute interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, drawing in over 8 million viewers.

Despite the anticipation surrounding this interview, NBC has not disclosed the expected duration of the interview.

It is noteworthy that Biden has participated in the fewest number of television interviews as president since President Ronald Reagan, as highlighted by data from Professor Martha Joynt Kumar. The interview with Lester Holt will be Biden’s sixth interview with a news network in 2024.

Stay tuned for further updates as this story unfolds.
