Renowned rapper Travis Scott was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning and booked into Miami-Dade County Jail on charges of trespassing property after being given a warning and disorderly intoxication, according to county jail records.
The arrest took place at 1:44 a.m. at the Miami Beach Marina and Scott, whose legal name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was officially booked into jail at 4:35 a.m., authorities and jail records confirm.
A bond of $650 was submitted for the 33-year-old rapper, and he bonded out of jail at 8 a.m. Thursday, as reported by the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County.
Scott, a prominent figure in the rap industry known for his energetic live performances, experienced a tumultuous early morning incident. Police stated that the incident began when Scott was involved in a dispute with the crew on a charter boat at the marina. After being asked to leave twice due to the altercation, Scott refused and was subsequently arrested.
The arrest affidavit shed further light on the situation, revealing that police were called to the dock to mediate a reported fight on a yacht. Scott was observed yelling at the boat occupants, with officers noting a strong smell of alcohol on his breath.
Scott ignored officers’ commands to leave and was ultimately taken into custody after behaving erratically and disturbing the peace, as stated in the affidavit.
“The defendant later admitted that he had been drinking alcohol and stated, ‘It’s Miami,’” the affidavit detailed.
Despite his success in the music industry, including his acclaimed album “Astroworld” and hit single “Sicko Mode” featuring Drake, Scott has faced legal issues in the past. Notably, he was involved in a mass casualty event during his Astroworld Festival show in 2021 where 10 people died and 300 were injured.
This incident adds to a list of previous arrests for Scott, including one during a 2015 Lollapalooza performance and another in 2017 for inciting a riot and disorderly conduct.
Scott, who has two children with beauty mogul Kylie Jenner, has yet to publicly comment on the recent arrest. CNN has reached out to his representatives for further information.
