Samsung unveiled its latest generation of foldable phones at the annual Unpacked event held in Paris for the first time. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are the stars of the show, featuring a lighter, slimmer design and packed with artificial intelligence tools. The devices come with a more durable hinge, better battery life, and run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor optimized for AI processing. The new Galaxy Z Fold starts at $1,899.99 and the Z Flip starts at $1,099.99. Despite the higher cost, Samsung remains a market leader in foldable phones, occupying between 80% and 85% of the market share.

In addition to the new foldable phones, Samsung also introduced a smart ring that offers health monitoring capabilities such as temperature tracking, sleep monitoring, and personalized insights. The ring, which comes in black, silver, and gold, is priced at $399.99. The company aims to compete with the smart ring market leader Oura in this fast-growing segment of wearables, according to IDC Research.

Samsung’s Galaxy AI software continues to be a key feature in its devices, providing users with new AI tools such as live translation for phone calls and an updated Note Assist feature for transcription and translation. The AI integration aims to enhance user productivity and improve overall user experience, particularly when it comes to getting work done.

The new Galaxy Buds 3, priced at $179.99, now includes an interpreter mode for real-time translations during lectures or meetings. It also adds new control functions for playing or stopping music without physical touch. Samsung’s focus on AI technology and innovative features sets it apart in the competitive smartphone market, as competitors like Google, Huawei, and Motorola roll out compelling options.
