In a recent analysis conducted by The Righting, it has been revealed that Donald Trump has a strong preference for Fox News when it comes to sharing content on his Truth Social page. Despite his public criticisms of the right-wing channel, Trump posted a staggering 56 videos from Fox News in the month of May, far surpassing any other outlet.
According to Howard Polskin, president and founder of The Righting, Trump’s relationship with Fox News may be hot and cold, but the analysis clearly shows that it was his number one choice for promoting content aligned with his messages. In comparison, Trump posted fewer videos from other outlets such as Right Side Broadcasting Network, Newsmax, and Real America’s Voice.
The analysis also uncovered Trump’s tendency to link to mainstream news organizations when it suits his agenda. In May, he shared content from the Associated Press, The New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post, POLITICO, NBC News, The New Yorker, and Reuters.
Polskin noted that while Trump often criticizes mainstream news outlets as “fake news,” he is willing to link to them if it benefits his narrative. This behavior exposes how Trump manipulates the media to serve his own interests, despite his public attacks on certain outlets.
This revelation sheds light on the complex relationship between Trump and the media, showcasing how he strategically utilizes different sources to promote his message to his supporters. The analysis underscores the extent to which Trump exploits the media as a tool for advancing his agenda.
