US Authorities Issue Urgent Recall: Energy Drinks Mistakenly Bottled with Vodka!

**Warning Issued After Accidental Mixing of Energy Drink and Vodka**

In a bizarre incident that has prompted a public safety advisory, the United States Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) issued a warning regarding a mix-up in which cans labeled as Celsius energy drinks were inadvertently filled with vodka. The problem centers around the “Astro Vibe Blue Razz” edition of Celsius, a popular energy drink that appeals to consumers seeking a quick boost in energy.

    ### The Mix-Up: Manufacturers’ Error

According to reports, the mix-up occurred when a packaging supplier mistakenly shipped empty Celsius cans to High Noon, a vodka seltzer company known for its flavored alcoholic beverages. High Noon then inadvertently filled these cans with vodka instead of the intended product. The alert was issued as a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring consumer safety, as these retrofitted cans could pose serious health risks if consumed by individuals who are not expecting such a product.

In addition to the Celsius drinks, High Noon is also recalling some of its Beach Variety packs that were produced on the same line. Fortunately, as stated by the USFDA, there have been no reports of illness or adverse events associated with the affected products thus far.

    ### Scope of the Recall

The recall affects two specific production lots of the affected drinks, which the FDA published on its official website for public reference. These products were distributed to a number of states across the United States, including Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin, between July 21 and July 23. This widespread distribution has heightened concerns among consumers, as this incident could affect many unsuspecting customers.

The affected High Noon packs bear the UPC retail code 085000040065 and include various lot codes, notably:
    – Lot L CCC 17JL25 ranging from 14:00 to 23:59
    – Lot L CCC 18JL25 from 00:00 to 03:00

Meanwhile, the Celsius energy drink cans are identified by the UPC retail code 8 89392 00134 1 and the following lot codes:
    – Lot L CCB 02JL25 from 2:55 to 3:11

Consumers are advised to check the bottom of the cans for these specific lot codes to determine if they possess the affected product.

    ### Consumer Guidance and Safety Precautions

The USFDA has provided clear guidance, stating that consumers should dispose of any Celsius Astro Vibe energy drink cans with the identified lot codes and refrain from consuming the liquid. It is critical for anyone who may have purchased these drinks to take immediate action to prevent unintended consumption of alcoholic beverages disguised as energy drinks.

High Noon has clarified that their Beach Variety packs with different lot codes are not part of this recall and are safe for consumption, providing some relief for consumers who may have been concerned about their recent purchases.

In an age where product safety is paramount, incidents like this highlight the importance of stringent quality control measures in food and beverage manufacturing. The swift actions of both High Noon and the USFDA signify a commitment to ensuring consumer safety, though it is imperative for consumers to remain vigilant and informed about product recalls.

    ### Final Thoughts

As this incident underscores, consumer vigilance is essential, especially when it involves products that can significantly impact health and well-being. The interplay of energy drinks and alcoholic beverages poses unique risks, particularly for younger consumers who may not expect to find alcohol in what they believe to be a non-alcoholic energy product. The USFDA’s advisory serves as a critical reminder for consumers to regularly check product packaging and labels for any warnings, updates, or recalls.

Through this series of events, both manufacturers and consumers are reminded of their roles in ensuring safety in food and drink consumption, prompting an ongoing dialogue about the importance of accountability, transparency, and safety in the food industry.
