In a recent Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting, Violet Affleck, the 18-year-old daughter of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, shared her experience with a post-viral condition she contracted in 2019. In a video posted online, Affleck passionately advocated for measures to address long Covid, a devastating neurological and cardiovascular illness that can result from the virus.

During her speech, Affleck called for the implementation of mask mandates, air filtration, and far-UVC lights in government facilities, including jails and detention centers. She also urged for more free testing and treatment opportunities, emphasizing the importance of opposing mask bans for any reason.

Affleck, who introduced herself as a Los Angeles resident and first-time voter, highlighted the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on individuals with long-term health consequences. She emphasized the need for protective measures to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable community members.

As the eldest of three children of Garner and Ben Affleck, Violet Affleck’s advocacy sheds light on the challenges faced by individuals dealing with long-term health effects of viral illnesses.
