Willie Nelson’s fans are eagerly awaiting his return to the stage after he canceled several performances due to “doctor’s orders.” The iconic singer, who recently turned 91, was unable to perform on Wednesday night as expected.
According to a message posted on Nelson’s social media accounts, he will not be performing at the show in Virginia Beach, but fans can expect him to return to the tour soon. Last week, Nelson had to cancel performances in his Outlaw Music Festival Tour due to illness. His team issued a statement saying Nelson needed to rest for four days based on doctor’s advice, but he is expected to make a quick recovery and join the tour next week.
Despite Nelson’s absence, artists like Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, and Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson, performed as scheduled on the tour. Nelson’s next tour stops are set for New York on Friday and Saturday.
In addition to his tour commitments, Nelson released an album titled “The Border” in May and collaborated on Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter” album. The country music legend was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year and has performed with other famous artists like Sheryl Crow, Chris Stapleton, and Dave Matthews. Fans are hoping for his speedy recovery and return to the stage.
